Georgia-India Busniess Forum

Tbilisi hosted Georgia-India Business Forum on 28-29 March, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian National Investment Agency, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Embassy of India in Georgia, and Georgian Employers Association.

The event was launched by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Ms Vera Kobalia. During the opening speech, she underlined the fact that India is one of the key business partners of Georgia, in fact, the major share of investments to Georgia, comes from India.

The Minister briefly introduced the situation in sphere of doing business in Georgia to the Indian businessmen and discussed the achievements that the country has made recently, due to reforms undertaken in the last few years.

Director of the Georgian National Investment Agency Ms. Keti Bochorishvili and Investment Projects Manager Mr. George Tsikolia made a comprehensive presentation on the investment climate and business opportunities in Georgia.

Indian business delegation was headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic India to Georgia H. E. Mr. Achal Kumar Malhotra. According to the Ambassador, such events play a positive role in promoting business relations between the business circles of our countries.

During two days of the forum, Georgian and Indian company representatives exchanged information, established contacts and laid down plans for joint projects. The Indian side was represented by 20 companies operating in the fields of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, construction etc. The visitors held bilateral meetings and paid visits to the sites of the hosting companies.
