The second round of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand

On February 23, 2023 second round of bilateral political consultations was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand, at the level of Deputy Ministers. The Georgian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alexander Khvtisiashvili, while the Thai delegation was headed by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi. Important issues in the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed during the consultations. The sides also reviewed the current political and economic developments in the respective countries and regions.

After the conclusion of the consultations the official ceremony of signing two Memorandums was held in presence of the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand and members of the respective delegations. The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between  the “Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the “Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand was signed by the Director of the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ms. Irine Dakhundaridze and by the Director of the “Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Ms. Thitiporn Chiradawadi, while the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Board of Trade of Thailand was signed by the President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Giorgi Pertaia and by the Chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul. 

In the framework of the visit the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia also held bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Sarawut Phetpanomporn, with the Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Napintorn Srisunpang and with the Under Secretary General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjabhana.
